Outreach Ministries

St. Paul's has a long tradition of outreach. Giving of our time, talent, and resources continues to be a vital part of the life and heart of this parish. Projects and fundraising events continue throughout the year with a variety of opportunities for helping those in our community and beyond. An outreach steering committee works closely with the vestry, rector, and parish to coordinate ministry efforts. Please check current outreach news and events and Sunday bulletins to see how you can help.

Give the Gift of Breakfast  to 50 East Elementary students. School starts Monday, August 4th, and the backpack program will gear up.  St. Paul's has been providing breakfast foods for students since this program began.  We are looking for donations of packaged food such as individual boxes of cereal, fruit cups, granola bars, and juice boxes or pouches.  Just place your donation in the gray bin in the office hallway and the items will be delivered to East Elementary.  The purpose of the program is to provide food over the week-end for students in need.

Share Sight with the Shelter

Union County Community Shelter

Can you imagine being unable to see well enough to do everyday tasks in order to care for yourself? Unfortunately, many people in our community are struggling with that very problem. It is time we did something to help!

  • Dr. Aycock of Aycock Eye Associates agreed to donate his time in providing one free eye exam a week for a homeless person at the Union County Community Shelter.
  • Unionville Lions’ Club has collected 140 sets of frames to be given free to those in need.
  • Dr. Aycock has agreed to fill these frames with the appropriate lenses for half price. The cost will be $20 for regular corrective lenses and $40 for bifocals.

The community shelter needs help with the cost. We have already received two monetary donations of $250 each, which has covered July through October. Our goal is to collect enough money to pay for the entire year. Please consider contributing a one-month donation of $125 or a two-month donation of $250. Together, we have the opportunity to give the gift of vision, through these eyeglasses, to 52 homeless people this year.

Loaves & Fishes Volunteers Needed

If you would like to help, please call 704.289.5799, or contact Herb Joyner: 704.289.2080. For more information, check out the website:
