Our Parish Team

The Rev. Brad Smith, PhD, OSB(obl.)

Before coming to St. Paul's in 2009, Fr. Brad served parishes in the Dioceses of Atlanta and East Tennessee following graduation from Sewanee, University of the South in 2003.  Prior to seminary, he completed his PhD in Philosophy and Bioethics (Univ. of TN, Knoxville) and his BA (College of William and Mary, VA) along with a 2-year hospital chaplain residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Fr. Brad is deeply devoted to the contemplative life, specifically through lectio divina and centering prayer. He is Co-Coordinator and Workshop Facilitator of Contemplative Outreach Piedmont, NC.  Additionally, Fr. Brad is a Benedictine oblate with St. Gregory's Abbey (Three Rivers, MI).

In his spare time, Fr. Brad enjoys tai chi, fly fishing, golf, trap/skeet, and reading.  He is happily married to Deb, an education law attorney serving as in-house counsel for Union County School System.

Nicci Brown

Parish Secretary

Nicci Brown has attended St. Paul's with her husband, Rhett, since 1996. They have two children — Wyatt and Isabelle, who were both baptized at St. Paul's.  A native Southern Californian, Nicci has lived in North Carolina for about 21 years.  She earned a B.A. in English at the University of the South in Sewanee, TN, and an M.A. in English from UNCC.  An employee at Wingate University for 19 years, Nicci retired in 2015 to spend more time attending to her children's outrageous over-scheduled lives.  She enjoys cooking, reading, and occasionally feels guilty while binge-watching series on Netflix.

Kathleen Prevost

Parish Organist & Choirmaster

Kathleen Prevost learned to play the organ at Houghton College in New York with Dr. Susan Klotzbach and Dr. Judy Congdon.  Later, Kathleen studied with Dr. Robert Parkins at Duke University.  A member of the American Guild of Organists and the Choristers Guild, Kathleen loves playing the organ and working with the youth and adult choirs at St. Paul's.  Contact her at 704-289-8434.
